About Us

Wings Aeromedical Services UK was founded in 1982 and run as a family enterprise for 25 years. During the same year, Wings Ambulance Service was established with the aim of offering road ambulance transfer throughout the South West of England. The company has continued to develop and now incorporates a Medical Training Centre offering a full range of in-house training courses.

In 1998, Wings Medical Group acquired the Automobile Association's 'Alert Assistance' private and corporate assistance business which then traded as Alert Assistance (Wings).

Since then, Wings Medical Group has developed to become one of the UK's leading providers of Aeromedical Repatriation and Ambulance Services and is now actively involved in supporting the NHS ambulance service to achieve its targets.

In 2008, Wings Medical Group was acquired by private investors who plan to develop the business further.
